Inundation on Jalan Kramat Jaya Raya Starts to Recede

The 10-15 centimeter high floodwaters on Jalan Kramat Jaya Raya, Koja District, North Jakarta, have begun to recede.

"The flooding was immediately handled by deploying 10 Blue Troop personnel, assisted by the Orange Troop. Meanwhile, personnel from the Transportation Agency managed traffic," he said, Thursday (1/29).

Slamet explained that personnel focused on cleaning water lines and channels so that the water flow could flow smoothly again. Apart from that, a floating pump unit was also deployed to speed up the process of receding the inundation.

"As of 11.30 AM, the floodwaters had gradually receded and now only about five centimeters remain," he added.

Meanwhile, Head of Tugu Utara Urban Village, Kusmadi stated Jalan Kramat Jaya Raya is prone to inundation. This is due to environmental conditions being lower than the surrounding areas.

The urban village and related agencies continue to coordinate to carry out rapid handling so that the impact of the flooding can be resolved immediately.

"We hope that the public will increase their vigilance, especially during heavy rain, and work together to maintain the cleanliness of the channels so that water flows smoothly," he stated.
